We are currently seeking an Advanced PROCESS Engineer to join our Tooling and Engineering Team.

The Role

The Advanced Process Engineer (APE) develops and improves procedures and documentation for our Technical Teams. As specialists in this area, the APE will work within a cross functional team to support exceptional quality and delivery by providing hands on training and guidance for our personnel. Reporting to the Tooling Manager, the APE will:

  • Lead process development functions during launch phase of new program
  • Calculate critical processing parameters for all new products during launch
  • Coordinate mold flow analysis for all new product development prior to SOP
  • Lead scientific molding initiatives for all new product development during launch
  • Lead material engineering activities during launch and new product development
  • Support Program Management, manufacturing and quality functions during launch activities
  • Work with tooling engineering team for problem solving activities on new tooling in order to achieve stable and repeatable molding process
  • Work with the estimating and advanced engineering team for process engineering feasibility
  • Troubleshoot chronic production processing issues as required
  • Ensure strong customer and supplier relations
  • Develop understanding of applicable standards and procedures; participate in audits and C/A activities
  • Assist in any way to any employee, necessary to promote a successful operation emphasizing customer satisfaction
  • Ensure personal awareness and understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO/TS 16949 (includes ISO 9001) Standards, and company policies and procedures
  • Promote an atmosphere of team work at all times
  • Ensure that a clean and safe work environment is always maintained
  • Complete any other duties as assigned


  • Experience in conducting and reporting train events - Design of Experiment (DOE) preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of mold flow analysis
  • Experience in scientific molding techniques
  • Tool design/build is an asset
  • Must have exceptional communication skills
  • Must have at minimum of 8-10 years' working experience injection mold processing in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience working within a team setting, problem solving methodology
